The Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation received a delegation of the Sino-French Friendship Association from Paris

To promote the overseas influence of the Beijing Central Axis, help the protection of cultural heritage along the Axis, and promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation welcomed a delegation of the Sino-French Friendship Association from Paris on March 17.

The Sino-French Friendship Association was founded in 1952 by French economist Charles Bettelheim and sinologist Joseph Marchisio. Over the past decades, it has received attention and support from the Chinese Embassy in France, as well as maintained long-term cooperation with the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Shanghai Municipal Committee of CPPCC. This visiting delegation was led by Chen Ye, a senior advisor of the Sino-French Friendship Association, and including Jean-Robert Marie PITTE, president of the French Academy of Sciences and chairman of the Paris Geographic Society; Pierre Laurent SANNER, sinologist and chairman of the Paris Geographic Society; Corine GUO, executive chairman of the Sino-French Friendship Association; He Yuqin, chairwoman of the World Treasures Art Association and artistic advisor of the Sino-French Friendship Association.

The delegation visited the Zhengyangmen Arrow Tower, the Museum of Ancient Architecture. Through the visits, members of the Sino-French Friendship Association delegation experienced the profound historical significance and unique cultural charm of the Beijing Central Axis. Jean Robert Marie PITTE and Pierre Laurent SANNER wrote their feelings on the guest book during the visit and expressed sincere gratitude for the reception.

Subsequently, both sides held a symposium and exchange meeting at the Temple of Heaven. The meeting was presided over by Chen Mingjie, director of the Beijing Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau. Both sides will promote project cooperation in the future, and continue to make efforts for cultural heritage protection.
