Beijing Publicity Day of 2025 Newspaper and Periodical Distribution and the Second Beijing Post Cultural Fair were held
The Beijing Publicity Day of 2025 Newspaper and Periodical Distribution and the Second Beijing Post Cultural Fair were held from October 12 to 14 in Longtan Park (East Lake), Dongcheng District, Beijing. Guided by the China Newspaper Association, the China Periodicals Association and other organizations, the event was hosted by the China Post Group Corporation Limited Beijing Branch, and co-organized by the China Press and Publishing Media Group Co., Ltd., the Distribution and Publication Department of People’s Daily, the Xinhua News Agency Beijing Branch, and the Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation.
The theme of the event was “Postal Services in Golden Autumn, Reading Towards the Future.” As part of the key activities of the 12th Beijing People Beneficial Cultural Consumption Season, it invited over 200 of China’s most influential newspapers and publishers, including the People’s Daily, Reference News, and Reader’s Digest, to display and promote excellent newspapers and periodicals and meet the needs of different readers. Moreover, by offering convenient subscription services for newspapers and periodicals, the event made reading easily accessible for Beijing citizens to enrich themselves in their daily lives, thereby fostering a love of reading among the people.
Sun Yang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Dongcheng District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Deputy Head of Dongcheng District, and Cao Jianshen, Director of the Newspapers and Periodicals Distribution Bureau of the China Post Group Corporation Limited, attended and addressed the launching ceremony. Leaders of newspapers such as People’s Daily, Reference News and Beijing Daily were present and made speeches. Zhang Bin, Deputy General Manager of the China Post Group Corporation Limited Beijing Branch, and Su Zhenfang, Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and Director of the Dongcheng District Forestry and Parks Bureau jointly launched the Beijing Publicity Day of 2025 Newspaper and Periodical Distribution and the Second Beijing Post Cultural Fair. More than 200 influential newspapers and publishers countrywide participated in the fair to publicize, exhibit and sell their products. On the spot, Mei Song, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation, announced the launch of the Beijing Central Axis-themed calendar. The first official cultural product after the inclusion of the Beijing Central Axis into the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on July 27, 2024, the calendar carries the cultural essence and unique charm of the ancient capital.
The publicity day, highlighted by the launch of the Beijing Central Axis-themed calendar, showcased the unique value of the Beijing Central Axis as a World Cultural Heritage site. This event raised awareness and interest in Beijing’s historical culture and urban landscape, enhancing the citizens’ sense of identity and pride in their local culture. It also contributed to the preservation and inheritance of the Beijing Central Axis.
