Foundation Profile

The Beijing Central Axis Protection Foundation is a charitable foundation that focuses on the protection and inheritance of the cultural heritage of the Beijing Central Axis. It accepts donations from all sectors of society, and funds public welfare projects including the elaboration of the cultural heritage value of the Beijing Central Axis, the revitalization and utilization of cultural relics, building capabilities for protection management, and international exchange and cooperation, thus contributing to the protection of the old city of Beijing.

The Foundation was founded by ten municipal state-owned enterprises together in Beijing with a total of 100 million yuan, and carries out public welfare activities in accordance with the provisions of the Charity Law and the Regulations on the Administration of Foundations. In 2023, the Foundation has set up “Special Fund for Beijing Central Axis Sustainable Development” with Tencent, and “Special Fund for Beijing Central Axis Cultural Education” with New Oriental Education and Technology Group. The Funds focus on the protection and inheritance of the cultural heritage of Beijing Central Axis, especially on key projects of Beijing Central Axis applying to be inscribed on the list of world cultural heritage. More than 30 projects have been funded, with a cumulative expenditure of more than 30.63 million yuan of public welfare funds.
