The 2024 Competition for the Protection and Innovation of Cultural Heritage of Beijing Central Axis was officially launched

On March 31, amidst the children's loud and clear singing, the 2024 Competition for the Protection and Innovation of Cultural Heritage of Beijing Central Axis (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") was officially launched at the Capital Museum.

Since its establishment in 2021, the Competition has attracted more than 400,000 direct participants from both home and abroad, and hundreds of millions of indirect participants. This competition will continue to highlight the advantages of resource integration, widely attract public participation, comprehensively optimize and upgrade the planning and implementation of track settings and thematic activities with a greater emphasis on professionalism, dissemination and transformation of results. And six major competition tracks have been set up, namely, the Old City Revival, Creative Expression, Messenger Expert, Happy Tour of the Beijing Central Axis, Beijing Central Axis Pattern, and Good Life, to assist the construction of Beijing Central Axis collection, storage, artworks storage, Talent pool and museum.

Among them, the Old City Revival aims to find suitable paths and methods for the upgrading and renewal of the core area of the old city of Beijing; the Creative Expression encourages the public to diversify the cultural heritage of the Beijing Central Axis through a variety of creative expressions in the form of images, paintings and calligraphy, and creative designs; and the Promotion Ambassadors encourages the public, especially adolescents, to strive to be the ambassadors promoting dissemination of the culture of the Beijing Central Axis.

Meanwhile, Happy Tour of the Beijing Central Axis, Beijing Central Axis Pattern, and Good Life, are newly established this year, focusing on the exploration of thematic tour paths along the Axis, doing the groundwork for the subsequent construction of the Axis Patterns Digital Gene Bank, and creating a new Chinese style of good life by guiding the public to experience the tea and food culture along the Axis.

From the launch of this competition to mid-July, it will go through five stages including registration, qualification review, preliminary, semi-final and final round.
