The first “passport” of Beijing Central Axis is released
On January 23, Beijing issued the first passport-like booklet for collecting stamps of Beijing Central Axis, making it convenient for stamp collectors to collect and display exquisite stamps along the axis, making every journey along the axis more ceremonial.
The “passport” adopts a high-security and anti-counterfeiting design. The design team spent two years depicting fifteen heritage sites along the axis on it, such as Bell and Drum Tower, Wanning Bridge, Jingshan Park, Forbidden City and etc.
The architectural design of the “passport” adopts the special hand carving technique for banknotes, containing colorless fluorescent patterns. Under UV lights, a north-south central axis runs through the entire city, creating a vivid picture on paper. The fluorescent picture is integrated with the image of a Chinese dragon, like an oriental giant dragon rising into the sky, implying that in the year of Chinese Dragon, everything changes with each passing day.
The first batch of “passports” were given to some representatives of 2023 Competition for the Transmission and Promotion of Beijing Central Axis and recipients of the "Beijing Yuyan Scholarship".
